Alger House at 45 Downing

45 Downing Street in Greenwich Village (also known as Alger House) was constructed in the early 1900’s as one of New York’s first parking garages for cars. (The original parapet is still visible and says “Tassi Garage”). The house was later bought in the 1960’s by a well-known American artist who decorated it with an eclectic mix of architectural antiques.

Besides its interesting history, 45 Downing Street has many advantages that have made it ideal for shoots, for holding and for a myriad of other projects that need a private space.

The Ballroom is a spectacular setting for film, video and photo shoots – as well as social events.
